Thursday night football doesn't get any better than this, as we'll unpack a thrilling duel between the Cowboys and Seahawks. As well, we'll present an NFL betting analysis for several upcoming games this week that will have major playoff implications. Lastly, we'll discuss NFL Week 13 odds, point spreads, and predictions, for both seasoned and novice gamblers.
Let’s delve into the action and also help you get the best NFL betting tips by discussing Thursday night football in Week 13.
NFL Thursday Night Football best bits
Viewers of this NFL Thursday night game in Week 13 witness the highest-scoring matchup for this particular night. Strangely, however, it was a game without a single punt, which makes it only the 5th time in NFL history with this phenomenon occurring. It was also unusual to see a massive 19 penalties called, as both teams combined for an epic 257 penalty yards (the highest of this season so far).
So how did the Cowboys dominate this game over the Seahawks? Well, it helps that Dallas' QB Dak Prescott contributed three touchdowns and 299 passing yards, which is really strengthening his MVP campaign.
Prescott is just in the zone right now and has delivered 20 throwing touchdowns in his previous six games. As great as Prescott looks for the Cowboys, he's getting quality help from WR CeeDee Lamb, who is rapidly becoming the quarterback's preferred target on the field. Lamb finished with one touchdown and caught 12 passes for 116 yards.
Despite the defeat, the Seahawks had a terrific offensive production. DK Metcalf hauled in six catches for 134 yards and added three big touchdowns, while rookie Jax Smith-Njigba added 62 yards on seven receptions.
Things could have been very different in the end, as there was a moment in the 4th quarter with 1:43 left when Seahawks QB Geno Smith had an opportunity to spearhead a game-winning drive. Sadly for Seattle fans, the team just couldn’t convert on fourth-and-2 at the 50-yard line. Smith was solid, though, finishing with three touchdowns, one interception, and completing 23 of 41 passes for 334 yards. Check out all the epic stats from this Dallas win over the Seahawks.
NFL Week 13 Predictions & Bets
We're in Week 13 of the NFL season, and the schedule is down to a manageable 13 games and six teams on a bye. Check out our advice on team picks and predictions with the spread included to help you in your NFL betting round.
Potential Game of the Week: San Francisco 49ers at Philadelphia Eagles – Spread: -2.5
Having a bye week is going to assist the 49ers in recovering, while the Eagles could be weary from a recent OT match. The 49ers' Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, and Brandon Aiyuk will all cause trouble for Phili, but the biggest X-Factor is McCaffrey's quickness and he's a receiver who knows exactly where to find the ball from Purdy's throws. In fact, Purdy should have little concern against the Eagles' defense and San Francisco will get this win while covering the spread.
Absolute Lock of the Week: Arizona Cardinals at Pittsburgh Steelers – Spread: -5.5
Following a coach switch, the Steelers appeared to be finding their offensive groove last week, while the Cardinals' output declined in a defeat to the Rams. Kyler Murray will have difficulty once more as a result of the Steelers’ defense. Steelers QB Kenny Pickett alone will be capable of taking the victory and the Steelers will get the win while covering the spread.
Interesting matchup: Denver Broncos at Houston Texans – Spread: +3.5
This is a crucial contest with regard to playoff ramifications. The defense has been a major factor in Denver's five-game winning streak. However, we still think the Texans will rebound from their giant loss to the Jaguars by defeating the Denver defense in this close contest led by Texans' QB C.J. Stroud. The Texans should earn the W, but without covering the spread.
Must-Know Player Prop Bets
We’ll discuss a few more NFL predictions for Week 13 with some individual player prop bets. This gives you a chance to bet on certain player outcomes, regardless of what you might have picked for betting on the game result.
Brock Purdy to reach over 254.5 passing yards
The Eagles’ defense hasn't been the greatest at stopping opponents from getting yards, even though it can cause mayhem on the offensive line by straining quarterbacks. In terms of passing yards allowed, Philadelphia is only ranked 29th.
We favor Brock Purdy (San Francisco 49ers QB) by choosing the over (-115) for this prop bet in part. Even though Purdy only managed 209 yards passing last week, he had passed for over 260 yards in the four games previously.
The 49ers will keep throwing for longer periods of time for Purdy to reach near 300 yards, as it's unlikely that SF will gain such a quick lead over the Eagles with Jalen Hurts.
Tyreek Hill to get over 98.5 receiving yards
Tyreek Hill, a receiver with the Miami Dolphins, is -125 against the Commanders to collect 99 receiving yards. Despite the fact that this is a very high line to target, Hill is capable of much more and is getting better all the time.
When going downfield, QB Tua Tagovailoa seldom looks away from Hill, and what’s more, Hill leads the Dolphins with 120 targets. Hill has delivered seven games reaching a minimum of 100 receiving yards, and in three of his last four, he has achieved that total.
The Commanders' defense isn't quite as strong as other opponents, and Washington is ranked 30th in terms of passing yards allowed, so Hill is going to have a big day again.
