NFL Week 10 Picks: Predictions in Detail

Monday Night Football: Rams @ 49ers – NFL Week 10 Predictions and Picks

An all-NFC West showdown on Monday Night Football to close our NFL Week 10 predictions. And yet another week MNF got a raw deal. Six weeks ago both teams were unbeaten, playing exciting football amid talks of a potential Super Bowl run. But the Niners are on a 1-5 stretch rwhile the Rams are coming off an embarrassing Sunday Night Football loss at home to the Titans to drop down to 7-2 and second place in the NFC West.

Many Niners’ fans will be cheering for the Rams to win on Monday as it seems the fastest and easiest way to get rookie QB Trey Lance to start next week against the Jaguars. And it’s not hard to envision such scenario with the injury crisis SF is deep into. On offense starting RT Mike McGlinchey underwent quad surgery and is out for the season. He will be replaced by either veteran Tom Compton or rookie Aaron Banks who have something in common – both are human turnstiles that are unable to stop anybody from getting by them. TE George Kittle, who just came off the IR, is suffering again from a calf problem and WR Mohamed Sanu is heading to the IR with a knee injury.

On defense S Tavon Wilson is expected to be placed on IR. LB Dre Greenlaw is still not activated, CB Josh Norman suffered a cracked rib against the Cardinals, S Jimmie Ward is limited after sitting out last week but the biggest news is the appearance of DE Arik Armstead on Friday’s injury report with a neck ailment. Armstead was downgraded from limited to DNP which is never a good sign. If he’s unavailable, DE Nick Bosa should be ready for double teams all night long as the Niners will have nobody to complement him on the DL.

Rams released WR DeSean Jackson but replaced him with Odell Beckham Jr. They didn’t need OBJ but signed him simply because they were among the few teams that could afford it. Whether he will contribute on Monday is yet to be seen but the other new addition, DE Von Miller, is expected to play. Starting center Brian Allen (elbow) is the only significant name in the otherwise very short injury report.

Rams are without a doubt the better team. But somehow the Niners are on a four-game winning streak against them. Which is weird, because at Levi’s Stadium SF is 24-35 since its 2014 opening. And this season the Niners are one of just three teams without a home win. Almost 90% of public money went on the SF covering the 4.5 spread and the game going under 49. Therefore I think the money line is the correct NFL Week 10 picks.

Our Expert NFL Pick for This Game: Rams  Money Line (-185)

Sunday Night Football: Chiefs @ Raiders – NFL Week 10 Predictions and Picks

Chiefs’ new identity brought them instant success. Their recent games were a far cry from the offensive outbursts of the last two seasons. It may look ugly but they are winning. At 5-4 they are finally off the AFC West bottom going into Sin City for the first of two divisional matchups with the Raiders in a five week span.

Raiders’ bye week was filled with distractions off the field. Two 2020 first round picks were cut after criminal related activities. As a result they were sloppy and unprepared in the 23-16 loss to the NY Giants. Maybe after all the drama surrounding head coach John Grudden has finally caught up to them?

Raiders’ defense has a number of players listed as questionable. Safety Tyree Gillespie went from limited to non-participant on Thursday. CBs Amik Robertson and Kelsean Nixon haven’t practiced this week as is LB Nick Kwiatkowski. And the veteran LB K. J. Wright has a nagging shoulder injury as well.

Personally, I would rank this one among the toughest NFL Week 10 expert picks. I was going back and forth between both teams but Vegas finally adjusted their view on the Chiefs. And less than a FG with the leg of Harrison Butker on disposal is too good to be passed.

Our Expert NFL Pick for This Game: Chiefs -2.5 (-114)

Vikings @ Chargers – NFL Week 10 Predictions and Picks

Leaders of the pack in the AFC West (one of two AFC divisions where all the teams are above .500) the 5-3 LA Chargers play host to the lovable losers from Minnesota. The Vikings led by at least seven points in each of their eight games so far. They played three overtime periods and own a positive point differential. Yet at 3-5 their season can easily go south with Chargers and Packers waiting on the schedule.

The Chargers ended their mini skid with a last-second 27-24 win in Philadelphia. Their all-in style going for it on most fourth downs was close to backfire once more but a timely conversion in the last quarter prolonged the eventual game-winning drive. Their defense is still suspect, especially on the ground. The Chargers are dead last by a wide margin in DVOA but managed to stay afloat last Sunday against a heavy running team.

Minnesota is a team build on ground success yet their passing game is way ahead. The Vikings are ranked 6th in passing DVOA and only 29th in rushing. But on the road defensive struggles take center stage. They have allowed 64 points in four home games but 129 playing away. And their defense took another hit last Sunday when safety Harrison Smith was diagnosed with COVID. He’ll be out in LA as well while the status of LB Anthony Barr (knee), DT Michael Pierce (elbow) and DE Kenny Willekes (illness) is still unknown.

This should be another close game as always is with the Vikings in 2021. But with back-to-back home games with Minnesota and Pittsburgh this is the moment for LA to make a move towards the playoffs. I’ve been burned by the Vikings numerous times this season but it’s like a habit and I can’t stay away from them in NFL Week 10 picks.

Our Expert NFL Pick for This Game: Chargers Money Line (-167)

Lions @ Steelers – NFL Week 10 Predictions and Picks

An unwanted record is on the horizon for the Lions. They are one of two teams with an 0-16 season but an 0-17 will be a new low for the franchise. As the only winless team in the NFL at 0-8 they are almost halfway. Coming off a bye week the Lions are travelling as a two-possession underdog against a team that needed some referee help for a late FG to beat the Bears and move to 5-3.

There are two interesting tendencies in this matchup. Detroit hasn’t had back-to-back blowout losses in 2021. Just before the bye they were dismantled 44-6 at home by the Eagles and the burning question while considering your Week 10 NFL picks should be: Is the bye week, in which they at least didn’t lose, counting towards the streak?

On the other hand, Pittsburgh fans are accustomed to close games this season. The Steelers have wins by 7, 8, 3, 5 and 2 points usually playing down to the level of the opposition. This will be the coldest game of the season so far (the temperature is projected to be as low as 35) and with RB Najee Harris nursing an ankle injury Pittsburgh look destined for another defensive struggle.

Our Expert NFL Pick for This Game: Lions +9 (-120)

Browns @ Patriots – NFL Week 10 Predictions and Picks

These two teams were hit hard by COVID and injuries the last couple of days. The Browns are dealing with a COVID outbreak with RBs Nick Chubb, Demetric Felton and John Kelly among the positive cases. C Nick Harris was already placed on the COVID-19 list and will miss the trip to Boston. The other three may still play as they need to show two consecutive negative tests in a 24-hour span. If not, D’Ernest Jones will be the starter with WR Jarvis Landry also an option in the backfield.

Patriots’ backfield is also in shambles with starter Devin Harris and primarily backup Rhamondre Stevenson both in concussion protocol. Taking into account the struggles of rookie QB Mac Jones the challenge of creating a game plan for Sunday against the #12 DVOA defense is big.

The Patriots have won the last three meetings but they all were with Tom Brady under centre. Browns’ ability (5th in DVOA) to limit opponents’ running game combined with the status of Harris and Stevenson may tip the scale towards them. The under looks like an interesting option and you can also choose the with your Browns Week 10 NFL picks straight up. After all, the Patriots are 1-4 at home.

Our Expert NFL Pick for This Game: Browns +2.5 (-109)

Thursday Night Football: Ravens @ Dolphins - NFL Week 10 Predictions and Picks

The 2021 NFL season just had its most inexplicable week. The favorites went 4-10 ATS with seven outright losses! Curiously the 1-7 then Dolphins were one of those four teams to cover, beating the Texans 17-9 despite three lost fumbles and a couple of INTs. This happened for the first time in more than 30 years as the Dolphins snapped a seven-game losing streak but still they are bottom of the AFC East and only the Texans have a worse record in the conference.

The Ravens eked out a 34-31 win at home to the Vikings, erasing a 14-point deficit and winning on a last-minute FG in overtime. Now four days after playing almost five quarters on Sunday the AFC North leaders will be back on the field on a 77-degree reportedly rainy night in Miami. That should affect NFL Week 10 predictions.

The visitors have no major injuries to report except S DeShon Elliott, who was lost for the season with torn biceps/pectoral. WRs Marquise Brown and Sammy Watkins are questionable although both are not expected to miss time.

Dolphins’ starting center Greg Mancz suffered an ankle sprain which, given the short week, is expected to sideline him on Thursday. QB Tua Tagovailoa is also on the injury report and after missing the win against the Texans and getting no practice reps it’s more likely that veteran Jacoby Brissett will get the nod.

Neither of these teams is particularly explosive. The Ravens are 24th in the league in seconds per play while Miami, especially in neutral situations, are slowing the tempo as well. As Baltimore relies heavily on ground game and the Dolphins prefer quick short passes it should eat a lot of clock. Last week TNF provided a mega over but in 5 of the 8 games so far the under was the outcome. And as Baltimore generates 2.34 offensive points per drive adding to Miami’s abysmal 1.6 a lot of drives will be needed to get over the line.

Our Expert NFL Pick for This Game: Under 46.5 (-110)

NFL Week 10 Picks in Brief

  • Falcons @ Cowboys (-9.5): Cowboys had their wake up call last week and it’s time to get back to business.
  • Jaguars (+10.5) @ Colts: Keep an eye on QB Carson Wentz’s status as his wife is due to give birth over the weekend.
  • Bills @ Jets over 47.5: Mike White is back for the Jets. As is TE Dawson Knox for the Bills.
  • Saints (+3) @ Titans: Titans became the trendy pick as Super Bowl favorites. And the season has already taught us that a slump is probably coming. This may turn into one of the NFL Week 10 best bets.
  • Buccaneers (-9.5) @ WFT: Tampa Bay had a week to lick the wounds but the receiving corps are not getting healthy.
  • Panthers @ Cardinals under 44.5: Even with Sam Darnold being ruled out with a shoulder fracture the line stayed suspiciously high.
  • Eagles @ Broncos under 45.5: Both teams love to run the ball. And chew a lot of clock. Be aware and do not fall in love with either team in NFL Week 10 picks against the spread.
  • Seahawks @ Packers (ML): All signs point to Rodgers vs. Wilson. But until it’s confirmed, stay away from this in your NFL Week 10 picks.

Explaining The Main Betting Types

So now you have decided to follow the experts’ advice with their special selection of NFL Week 10 predictions, your next job is to know and understand the specifics of the betting markets. The three most popular among football betting enthusiasts are:

  • Moneyline
  • Point Spread
  • Over/Under

All of them are offered by every online sportsbook, so let's have a look at each one and explain how they work. Then you will be 100% ready to explore the NFL Week 10 best bets.

NFL Week 10 Picks Straight Up

The straight up or moneyline betting market is probably the simplest to understand. Here you will be offered odds about both of the teams involved in a NFL game and your only job is to bet on the team that you think will win. If your prediction is correct, your bet is a winning one and it will be settled at the odds you took. In short, when you see our NFL Week 10 picks straight up, you should be able to bet on them easily. Check the following example:

TeamOdds
Philadelphia Eagles+110
Denver Broncos-130
NFL Week 10 Picks Straight Up

So if you fancy Philadelphia to win the NFL game against the favorite Denver, you could bet on the Eagles at odds of +110. A stake of $100 would therefore give you a profit of $110 if they succeed. On the other hand, you have to bet $130 on Denver and the Broncos have to win the game for your profit to be $100. This is as straightforward an example as you would find. Now you should be ready to take advantage of our NFL Week 10 picks straight up .

NFL Week 10 Picks against the Spread

NFL Week 10 Picks against the Spread
NFL Week 10 Picks against the Spread

People look for NFL Week 10 picks against the spread because the odds for the two teams in a particular game can be quite different. By trying to even them up, all sportsbooks offer point spread markets that impose an artificial handicap on the favorite team. The spreads give the underdog team an equal and opposing advantage, and consequently, the odds available tend to be much more balanced. That’s why picks against the spread are in such demand. See this example:

TeamSpreadOdds
Cleveland Browns+2.5-110
New England Patriots-2.5-110
NFL Week 10 Picks Against the Spread Example

Here you see Cleveland being given an advantage of +2.5 points, while New England have a handicap of -2.5 points. If you put a bet on New England, the Patriots will need to win by 3 points or more for you to succeed. Bet on Cleveland and that wager will only lose if the Browns lose by 3 points or more. With these conditions in place, the sportsbook is able to offer even odds for both teams.

When you are using expert predictions, you will surely be given NFL Week 10 picks against the spread. Just wager on the named team in the point spread market and you’ll have your winning bet served on a plate if the pick is correct.

NFL Week 10 Predictions Over/Under

This is the third main betting market, so you will surely find many sources for NFL Week 10 predictions over/under around. Here you only have one job: to predict whether the total number of points scored in the game by both teams combined will be Over or Under a total figure quoted by the sportsbook. Logically, that’s why this is also known as the Totals market. See the following example to understand the concept better:

GameSportsbook TotalOdds
Minnesota Vikings @ Los Angeles ChargersOver 51.5/Under 51.5-110/-110
NFL Week 10 Predictions Over/Under

The over/under betting is just as simple as moneyline betting. (Especially if you have access to free NFL expert picks for Week 10 to help guide you through the process.) In our example of this type of wagering all you have to do is decide whether you think there will be over or under 51.5 points scored in the game by both teams combined. If you go for Over, there would need to be 52 points or more for your wager to succeed. Go for Under and there would need to be 51 points or fewer for your bet to win.

You got it now? If you did, check out our expert predictions above, find the NFL Week 10 best over/under bets available and place a wager.
